*drumroll please....*
Arizona State University!
So, yeah. Remember when I said I didn't want to live in the desert?
I am now having to eat my words, but I have to say, I am happy to do so. While I will admit that it will take a bit for me to get used to the new scenery, and trade in green landscapes
for red,
living in the desert does have its benefits. For instance, if we stayed here, this is what we could afford:
Smaller than our current apartment, for $500,000.
Here, in a town outside of Phoenix? We can get something like this:
for $234,000!
Ed and I have been so enjoying looking at houses, and knowing we can actually afford a place with space and amenities that will make life so lovely.
There are also lots of lovely trails and places to visit (hello, Grand Canyon!), and we're near a major airport, so we can get many more places easily.
So, our next step is to travel out there (since I haven't really spent much more time in Phoenix beyond many a layover) next week, so that we can drive around neighborhoods, tour model homes, etc).
But, come mid-June, we will be moving!
